Reuben graduated from the University of Tasmania with an agricultural science degree in 1996. He returned to Tasmania in 2006 to complete a PhD in viticulture. When Reuben established Ag Logic, precision agriculture was in the early days of integration into Tasmanian agriculture. Reuben has taken precision agriculture tools from around Australia and trialed a number of different options, to determine which option suits the needs of Tasmanian farmers.

Reuben has also been working with advanced tools for soil moisture monitoring for over ten years. Initially he was interested in this as a tool for improving wine grape quality, and has broadened this to improving irrigation strategies in any irrigated crop.
